I made a trilogy of 30-second videos for the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia’s Master in Advanced Ecological Buildings & Biocities. Each treats on a different subject, one being building with wood, the other building a community and the final one about being self-sufficient.

It was all edited from 15+ hours of footage gathered from the students, faculty staff and even visitors, ranging from drones, to professional cameras (not many though) and mostly phone footage. It was a challenge.

In my words: Learn by doing, even better, learn by living. This Master is a full hands-on course in the hills of Barcelona where you learn how to manage a forest, cut down its overgrowth, use those trees as your material for an innovative fully sustainable building. Seem like a very exciting Master.

In their words: The Master in Advanced Ecological Buildings and Biocities (MAEBB) postgraduate program is an 11-month immersive academic program focused on learning how to design and build a new generation of buildings and cities to respond to the planet’s emerging climate challenges.

The program is carried out in Valldaura Labs, in Barcelona, a 135 He property located in the Collserola forest. Here, students will live and work surrounded  by nature while using the most advanced technologies and design techniques in the pursuit of what is also IAAC’s long term initiative, to create self-sufficient and ecological environments.
